Springing into the Growing Season
The team at Cultivating Farms is already hard at work, nurturing the seeds of possibility for the upcoming growing season.

With February bidding farewell and March blooming in, the team at Cultivating Farms is already hard at work, nurturing the seeds of possibility for the upcoming growing season. The journey began in early February, as we tenderly started seeds, laying the groundwork for a vibrant and fruitful harvest ahead. Last week marked an exciting milestone as we transplanted these tender seedlings into larger pots, providing them with the space and nutrients they need to thrive.

The Growing Season includes Diverse and Colorful Selections

Our seed selection this year is as diverse as it is colorful, reflecting the kaleidoscope of nature's bounty. From the rich hues of black, orange, green, yellow, and red tomatoes to an array of pepper and eggplant varieties spanning a spectrum of colors and sizes, our garden promises to be a feast for the eyes and the palate alike.

But our vision extends beyond just vegetables. This year, we're expanding our cutting garden to include a dazzling array of annual flowers, including delphinium, stock, verbena, snapdragons, and dahlias. These blooms will not only add a splash of color to our farm but also serve as a source of inspiration and beauty for all who visit.

In addition to our vegetable and flower offerings, we're also nurturing a selection of herbs, including black cumin, rosemary, lavender, and stevia. These aromatic plants will enhance the flavors of our farm-to-table meals and will also add to the experience of the sensory path at the farm. But our efforts don't stop there. In a gesture of community outreach, we've sowed catnip to be shared with local cat shelters, offering a touch of comfort and joy to our feline friends in need.

Our agricultural program isn't just about growing plants; it's about cultivating marketable skills and nurturing the dreams of those we serve. Through hands-on experience and meaningful engagement with the land, people invest in their dreams and blossom into confident individuals with a sense of purpose.
